Dama de Toro Tempranillo Barrel Aged 2009 is featured in one of Belgiums most popular newspapers in an article written by Baudouin Havaux. "The Fariña winery, pioneer in the region of TORO in Castilla y Leon offers here one of the lighter wines from Toro from their more extensive range although the typical Toro character is still preserved. Red ripe fruit, good volume on the palate and marked yet supple tannins. One appreciates especially the freshness of this Toro. Dama de Toro Crianza, TOP 100 BEST BUYS
Dama de Toro Crianza continues to attract acclaim across the USA. This month, Wine Enthusiast includes DAMA DE TORO CRIANZA in their TOP 100 BEST BUYS OF THE YEAR.
The wines that are featured in this exclusive list boast a well above average price / quality relationship and out perform other wines in their price and category.
This news comes after Dama de Toro Crianza was featured in the magazine in September with 91 points. "A little sweeter and more candied than the Gran Dama reviewed above, this is full of fig flavours and black fruit that melt into the wildly tannic texture. Pour it with hefty meats of a ripe sheep´s milk cheese. BEST BUY!!
In the same issue, Gran Dama de Toro, the premium wine in the range was rated with 92 points. "Base on old-vine tinta de toro (some 90 years old) along with a little old-vine grenache, this wine is substantial, black and ripe. Even so, the black cherry flavors remain savoury rather than sweet, to serve with osso buco.

Farinas and Winery
The latest edition of Wine Spectator includes their annual Spain report which includes a great picture of Manuel and Bernardo Fariña.
"For more traditional reds try Bodegas Fariña, a family-owned winery that was considered daringly innovative when it began modernizing production in Toro in the 1970s. Yet now its wines seem more rustic and rooted than its contemporary competitors. The Gran Dama de toro 2004 shows a lovely balance of ripe fruit with darker, earthier flavors. The Dama de Toro Crianza 2006, exuberant and lively, is one of the DO´s best values. a lovely balance of ripe fruit with darker, earthier flavors. | $45 | 1,500 cases made | Red
Generous and expressive, this red shows a lovely balance of ripe fruit with darker, earthier flavors, mingling black currant and plum with espresso, mineral and hoisin notes. The tannins have grip, but give way to tobacco and spice on the finish. Drink now through2014.—T.M.

| $16 | 12,500 cases made | Red
Black currant, pomegranate, licorice and chocolate flavors mingle in this exhuberant red, which has well-integrated tannins that support a plush tectura and enough acidity to keep it lively.—T.M.
